P2P Updates

We’ve made a few updates to the Print-To-Play version of FoF: The (Friendship) Game based on some player feedback.

The Code of Conduct, Gameplay Mode and Mods cards included with the deck have been changed to be more readable. The black font on the blue background just didn’t show up too well when printed, so now it’s white text and really pops out on the blue background. We also added “AFFINITY GAMES” to the banner in the Two of Coins, this was a typical place for the card designers to put their mark and is a nice little easter egg.

The other change we’ve made is to make the Fool card to be gender-neutral by taking away the Fool’s beard. This is a change we realized we should have made some time ago, and are very happy with the decision. We’ll be updating the card back and box art soon on game versions available to purchase through The Game Crafter. This is a first step in the direction we would like to take of queering the art of FoF/The Tarot de Marseilles.

The art is after all from France in the 17 century, and so the figures within it are largely white and heteronormative. When we start a crowdfunding campaign for a bulk printing of the game, one of our stretch goals will be to hire someone to vectorize the art and help us with queering the figures of the deck/game.

The downloadable file has been updated on the website for those who bought the P2P game version, they can redownload it and print out those changed cards–The Fool-00, the Two of Coins, and the Code of Conduct, Gameplay Modes and Mods.
